Responding to accidents and sudden illness

INDUCTION

Responding to accidents and sudden illness is often called first aid – But what is it?

Overview

This e-learning course provides essential knowledge to help you respond safely and appropriately when someone has an accident or becomes suddenly ill.

You will learn about the principles and priorities of first aid, how to assess an emergency situation and when to call for emergency assistance. The course also explores common situations you may encounter in a health or social care setting, including shock, seizures, low blood glucose, choking, cardiac arrest and serious bleeding.

The course is suitable for induction and refresher training for health and social care workers.
